I am part of a non-profit called the Be the Cause. We collaborate with several other non-profits in a project called Heart, Hope and Love. The projects goal is providing malaria bed nets for all the children under 5 years of age and pregnant mothers in an entire village region in Mbita, Kenya. I am joining this fast in solidarity with others who find the statistic of a child dying of a preventable disease every 30 seconds, unacceptable and who want to aid in eradicating this worldwide killer. Malaria was prevalent in the southern US until the 1950s but was eradicated so together as collective we can work together to do the same in the other countries of the world which still suffer from malaria. A net cost so little and does so much good. I would sponsor me knowing that their contribution is helping to save a child's life.
